A DNA test of the mother dog (she's the cream and white dog in Additional Pictures) came back husky and Lab. Not all sled dogs (such as huskies) are gushingly outgoing, face-lickingly affectionate. This mom dog was on the reserved side, and even though we had Mom and the litter since the pups were 3 days old, even though the pups were raised in a private home with people and other dogs, some of the pups learned from Mom to be reserved, too. They are especially shy when we bring them to events; they climb into the "buckets," our blue plastic dog beds, and try to become invisible. And forget walking on a leash. But at home, they're pretty much normal puppies. So you will need patience with one of these pups, but none of the others in the litter who have been adopted have been returned, nor have we had any complaints about them.

There were 7 boys and 1 girl, all black or black with cream or white.  They have grown up to be quite large, so expect a big dog, though the mom was not terribly large. Luis is the boy with the medium sized white patch on his chest.

All LCAS dogs are fostered in private homes. We do not have a facilty and all volunteers work full time. Most dogs are transported to our scheduled adoption events which are listed on the events page. Please do call first to make sure a particular dog is coming to an event. Sometimes the van is overfull and dogs get the day off. Other arrangements can be made for meeting a dog if you are out of the area, local, or work weekends. If you are viewing this dog through petfinder.org, PLEASE CLICK THROUGH to the Lake County Animal Services webpage to get more detailed information about this dog.

Please check our Adoption Events schedule for time and place of events.
