All LCAS dogs are fostered in private homes. We do not have a facilty and all volunteers work full time. Most dogs are transported to our scheduled adoption events which are listed on the events page. Please do call first to make sure a particular dog is coming to an event. Sometimes the van is overfull and dogs get the day off. Other arrangements can be made for meeting a dog if you are out of the area, or work weekends. If you are viewing this dog through petfinder.org, PLEASE CLICK THROUGH to the Lake County Animal Services webpage to get more detailed information about this dog.

Notes from Copper's Foster home: Hi, well it has been just a joy having Copper as a foster dog over the
last week. He is so smart, easygoing and very loyal. He has come a long
way in such a short time on the leash. He will sit and wait for his food
to be placed down and isn't rushing past to get out the door. He loves
to go for long or short walks and spend time at the dog park. He has
done well with the other dogs. Likes to sleep on the bed with me and
that's fine, because he is quiet and still all night. He is definately
house broken and will let you know when he needs to go out. He's a bit
mischievous when left on his own. The house comes alive while I'm gone. I
will come home and many things are in different places, from the remote
control moving from the living room to the kitchen and the couch
cushions on the floor, he's not destructive just redecorating. He and
Ben like to rough
house and Copper knows the limits with not getting too rough with him.
He would probably do best in a home with an older child or at least one
that is steady on their feet. I will surely miss Copper over the
weekend! A family will be blessed to have him!
