All LCAS dogs are fostered in private homes. We do not have a facilty and all volunteers work full time. Most dogs are transported to our scheduled adoption events which are listed on the events page. Please do call first to make sure a particular dog is coming to an event. Sometimes the van is overfull and dogs get the day off. Other arrangements can be made for meeting a dog if you are out of the area, or work weekends. If you are viewing this dog through petfinder.org, PLEASE CLICK THROUGH to the Lake County Animal Services webpage to get more detailed information about this dog.

5/29/10- Kelly now has a wonderful home waiting for her when her new owners return from vacation next week! She deserves a life of being the only dog at home, she does have 2 cats she has not yet met... good thing she loves cats.  She takes direction well from her foster cat, Saddie. We will miss her terribly as she has been a very big part of our lives for the 7 months since her rescue. She has come so far and with her new humans, will go even further. We love you Kelly.
ps.. please write and let us know how spoiled you are getting.
1/4/2010- Skelly, we now call her Kelly, was the lucky recipient of several Christmas donations for her care. She is currently healthy, and all of her old health issues have been resolved. She is highly active, and that gets her into trouble. So, LCAS used her donations to send her to camp for training. We hope that with training she will be more adoptable. Her other assets include her lovely affectionate eyes, and sweet disposition. Her detriments are she is a Pit, and they are difficult to place properly. She will come back from her week or two at Kings Kastle Dog Rehabilitation and Socialization Center with basic obedience and treadmill training. Thank you so much to the group at Lake County Social Services and David, who donated a  total of 355.00 for Skelly. Kelly looks pretty good now, and we call her a minipit as she is still only about 40 pounds.

8/15/2009- New Skelly pics!!

7/3/2009- Skelly and her two brothers were abandoned and left to starve by an uncaring person.  All three are emaciated, dehydrated, malnourished and suffer from mange.  Skelly, who should weigh about 45 pounds, only weighs 13 pounds.
They are currently being treated for mange and parasites, and once healthy, they will be spayed/neutered.  Their medical care will be quite expensive.  If you aren't in the position to adopt one of our dogs, perhaps you would consider sponsoring one of these unfortunate pups.

Special Needs: 2/10/2010-Kelly needs consistency with exercise and discipline. She is adorable, happy and very grateful. Her excess energy and self control is managed thru leash work and helping her stay calm and focused.
